Pink Roses Wedding Cake
This cake was for a wedding on Valentine's Day, and originally was only going to have light pink roses on it. Well, I had 5 cakes for sunday that I needed roses of different shades of pink for, so I premade 3 shades of pink roses a few days ahead of time. As luck would have it, the bride called 2 days before the wedding and said she didn't know if the light pink would work out because they got bergundy table cloths, napkins and plates for the cake table. So I told her I had done the 3 different shades and would see how they looked on the cake when I got there to set it up. Fortunately, the different pinks worked beautifully with the table, and the bride and groom were thrilled with the cake!
Close Up on the Roses
Grouping the various shades together brought a lot of depth to the cake, and making them all in various stages (bud, partially open, fully open) gave the basic white cake character.
Scrollwork
I wanted to give the bottom tier something extra, so I did some basic scrolls all around it.
