Pink Lily 1st Communion Cake

This order was taken as white frosted cake in the shape of a cross and a lily in the middle, maybe her name on it too. Basically, a nightmare! Simple frosted cakes are the most difficult to do, because inevitably there are going to be areas that don't look perfect... that's where decorations go! I asked the godmother, who paid for the cake, if some simple scrollwork and borders would be okay. She not only said yes, but thought a touch of pink as a border around the base of the cake would tie in nicely with the flower and I agreed. So I did it. Now the only other obstacle to hurdle was the issue with the name. Should I pipe it in pink? And where should it go? In the end, I decided to make a pink marbled fondant scroll and put her name on that. When I set up the cake, I had her place her name wherever she wanted, which is why it is in the location it is.
