Mardi Gras Mask Cupcakes
The person who ordered these cupcakes has a Mardi Gras party every year, but generally people don't eat the traditional King Cake. I suggested cupcakes with all the traditional ingredients in King Cake, but with a pound cake base instead... and thus, the Rum, Raisin and Toasted Pecan Cupcakes with a Rum Infused Cream Cheese Glaze was born!

I made each mask individually, so no two of them were alike. They didn't look finished until I painted them with a little gold glitter dust and vodka.

It just wouldn't be Mardi Gras if Comedy and Tragedy weren't involved.

I only made masks for half of them, and used gold, green and purple sugars to decorate the other half, keeping with the traditional Mardi Gras colors.
